After a life time singing and working together it is understandable if the Beach Boys have a few legal sparring matches from time to time. According to the latest gossip news updates, original members Brian Wilson and Mike Love are preparing to go to court once again over who exactly owns the name of the band. Word has it that the battle, which is really just over money, is being spurred on by their lawyers and agents, instead of coming out of any real animosity between the old band mates. In related news, the track listing for Wilson's new album, 'No Pier Pressure' has been released and it looks like the 'Pet Sounds' genius cut Lana Del Ray and Frank Ocean from the final mix, despite announcing they would appear on the record months earlier.
Beach Boys fans apparently shouldn't really worry about the band breaking up -- it's just seems to be Mike Love and Brian Wilson's thing to sue each other every once in a while.
A source close to the behind-the-scenes feud claims in the February 9, issue of National Enquirer that the Beach Boys are once again going to court -- this time to determine who really owns the name of the band:
"The feud of the band's name between Mike and Brian never died.
"A fresh round of legal action between the two is only around the corner.
"Both sides are preparing for a fight to claim ownership of the name."
Sadly, the informant insists that the real beef exists between all the leaches and yes-men that surround the legends, who would otherwise get along swimmingly if left to their own devices:
"It is really the people behind them -- the lawyers, agents, mangers -- who are driving it.
"The funny thing is Mike and Brian are usually on pretty decent terms."
For whatever reason, it seems that Brian Wilson has also changed his mind about collaborating with Frank Ocean and Lana Del Ray.
According to entertainment new source, Pitchfork, Wilson had previously made a big deal about their contributing to his new album, 'No Pier Pressure', but the artists seem inexplicably absent from the final cut:
"It seems that previously announced contributors Frank Ocean and Lana Del Rey didn't make the cut. Ocean was supposed to appear on "Our Special Love", while Del Rey was supposed to be featured on "The Last Song".
"Both tracks made the album, but don't seem to have either artist on them."
Who knows...at 72-years-old maybe Brian Wilson just kind of forgot.
