'The Voice' Season 4, Episode 24 Contestants Recap: Adam Levine Winner, Starbucks Loser for 'Healing in the Heartland' Disaster

Quick recap: Adam Levine winner, Starbucks loser.

The most shocking part of The Voice Season 4, Episode 24 wasn't any contestant's elimination, or even Levine saying he hates this country--like he did last week.

No, the most shocking moment goes to...Starbucks, chief sponsor of The Voice, for their "Healing in the Heartland" disaster.

Blake Shelton, country music star and judge, calls Oklahoma home--a fact he never lets the viewers forget. He says it so much that we, legitimately, thought it was his catch phrase. So, it makes sense that he would organize "Healing in the Heartland," a benefit concert for the tornado-ravaged area.

It is a noble, if expected, gesture, and we am sure the victims are greatly appreciative. Classicalite's complaint doesn't lie with Shelton, or even the benefit, but rather NBC and Starbucks.

At first, one thinks they are watching a touching and memorable tribute to the victims of devastation. It is only halfway through that the audience realizes it is really a thinly disguised advertisement for Starbucks.

The segment opens with on-the-ground footage of acres of rubble that was once a neighborhood. Then you are presented with some pretty standard B-roll footage of volunteers who are wearing brightly colored Starbucks shirts.

A middle-aged woman wearing the Starbucks shirt, with a Starbucks hat, in front of a group of Starbucks volunteers, praises the company for all it's done.

Starbucks donated $250,000 towards the efforts (which seems like a small amount for all of the press they are trying to generate out of it). In fact, when this same middle-aged woman hugs The Swon Brothers, the coffee mug logo on her shirt is unobstructed.

After the short film, it was up to Carson Daily to once again drum up the fact that Starbucks is a hero.

We quote verbatim: "Great job! Big thanks also goes out to our friends, and I want to mention this, at Starbucks--our friends at Starbucks--because of their contributions and America's donations, they raised nearly $1,000,000 in relief aid. Thank you, to you and Starbucks."
