A year ago Hillary Duff and husband, Mike Combie, announced that they were ready to walk away from their marriage, but were planning to remain friends through the divorce. According to the latest gossip news updates, friends is a bit of an understatement when referring to the couple's current relationship status, however. Word has it that the Disney diva is once again pregnant with the retired hockey player's baby despite their amicable split. In a related story, British pop star Charli XCX recently revealed that she originally offered Duff the opportunity to record her hit "Boom Clap" for herself, but the former child star's handlers rejected the song without even letting Hilary know about it.
Hilary Duff may not want to be married to her hockey playing husband, Mike Combie, anymore, but then again the Disney starlet may be looking to work things out after all.
During a conversation with OK! Magazine, Hilary explained that she and Mike were trying to work out a perfect solution in an imperfect world:
"We are really trying to figure out how we are the most happy -- whether together or apart."
According to a report in the January 9, issue of OK! it is looking like Mike has actually been spending so much time with Duff that she appear to be pregnant once again.
The publication insists that the 27-year-old actress looks like she has gained anywhere from 15 to 20 pounds of baby weight thanks to their post-split canoodling.
Word has it that Hilary was also recording a new album while dealing with the split from Mike, so it's a real shame that her people passed on Charli XCX's "Boom Clap" when it was first offered to them.
The diminutive British singer recently told V Magazine that she was initially crushed when Duff's team turned down to track but used the disappointment as inspiration to record the song herself (via E! News):
"We sent the song to her people and I don't think she ever heard it.
"But they were like, 'This song isn't cool enough for Hilary.'
"And we were really sad about that! So I was like, 'F--k it. I'm going to sing it.'"
The 22-year-old singer/songwriter went on the reveal that Hilary even contacted her after hearing "Boom Clap" on the radio to tell her how badly she regretted not making it her own when she had the chance:
"Hilary Duff heard it and she tweeted me, 'Hey, I really like your song! I wish I'd known that I could've had it.'
"And I was like, 'Too late, Hilary. Too late.'"
Let's just hope it's not too late for Hilary and Mike to work out a happily ever after ending.
