Due to illness, Aretha Franklin was forced to back out of the League of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association's annual Corporate Night.
Filling in, however, was the lovely and talented Janelle Monáe.
As per usual, the futuristic diva took to Twitter to let her thoughts be known.
Now, as far as Classicalite can tell here, no one at Symphony Center's Orchestra Hall was, in fact, "acting like a drunk dignitary."
All the same, according to Rolling Stone's Dan Hyman, her cover of Prince's "Take Me With U" did have at least one patron "jiving in the aisle."
As for what happened when Janelle Monáe performed her own work, well, this fan's portrait mode vid pretty much speaks to the singer's dearth of tweets that evening.
Perhaps the Windy City was still smarting over that bad review from the Big Apple...
