2CELLOS to Release Third Album 'Celloverse' Featuring Lang Lang, Start US Tour in Feb.

2CELLOS, made up of the electric and instrumental Croatian duo Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, will be releasing their third album, Celloverse, Jan. 27 from Portrait/Sony Music Masterworks. The new album will also feature music by critically acclaimed pianist, Lang Lang. They will start a U.S. tour in February

2CELLOS made a splash after their version of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” went viral with 20 million-plus YouTube views. Since then, they have been performing all over the world, even performing with Sir Elton John as a part of his band. They have been featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show and The Bachelor Live Wedding Special and were the first instrumentalists to appear on an episode of the hit television series, Glee.

Celloverse will take the group back to their rock roots. It was self-produced by the classically trained artists and will showcase the duo's ability to reinvent current and classical rock and pop songs. The album begins with “The Trooper Overture,” a metal-meets-classical mash-up of Iron Maiden’s hit and Rossini’s “William Tell Overture.” The album includes their take on AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” — the video has 31 million views — “I Will Wait” by Mumford & Sons, “Shape of My Heart” by Sting and Michael Jackson’s “They Don’t Care About Us.” Internationally known pianist Lang Lang will help round out the album with the Paul McCartney classic “Live and Let Die,” and also the titled track, which 2CELLOS penned and arranged themselves.

2CELLOS's new album is now available for preorder, and soon they will embark on a U.S. tour which will start Feb. 19 in Minneapolis. For more information about the tour or to buy tickets, click here.
