Just weeks following their epic wedding in Venice, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin were beset by rumors that their marriage is in trouble. According to the latest gossip news updates, Batman and his new wife are nearing divorce due to her insistence that the Gravity actor not hang out with friends like Angelina Jolie or Sandra Bullock unless she was there to chaperone. During his Golden Globes acceptance speech, however, Clooney seemed to be more than happy with his still blushing bride.
Before the ink had even dried on the marriage license, the tabloids were reporting that George Clooney was having a real problem adjusting to all his new wife's rules about who he could see and when he could see them.
A secret source recently claimed in Life & Style Magazine that Amal let her husband know that now that he is married it wouldn't be appropriate to hang out with some of his old friends without her (via Inquisitr):
"Amal doesn't want George to hang out with any female friends without her being there.
"This includes Cindy Crawford and Angelina Jolie - even though they're married."
Although, when George recently gave his acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes, he sounded far from frustrated with his new wife (via The Daily Beast):
"Listen: It's a humbling thing when you find someone to love -- even better when you've been waiting your whole life.
"And when your whole life is 53 years, Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn't be more proud to be your husband."
To hear Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler joke about it, you might think that it was Clooney that got lucky in convincing Alamuddin to marry him.
The former SNL stars reminded the audience in the own hilarious was that it wasn't like Amal didn't bring an pretty impressive resume to the table (via NY Post):
"Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an adviser to Kofi Annan regarding Syria, and was selected for a three-person commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza Strip.
"So tonight, her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award."
For his part, George seems to pretty much agree with their assessment of the ridiculous situation (via Entertainment Weekly):
"I didn't even think that was a joke.
"Tina and Amy kill me...They're the best hosts of the show."
So, the tabloids can go on and say whatever they want about his relationship to Amal Alamuddin...George can take the joke.
