Kurt Busch drives the number 41 car in Nascar's Sprint Cup Circuit and is sponsored by Monster Energy. Other than that, not much can be said for the lackluster driver. A few years back, he was placed on GQ's list of the Top Ten Most Hated Athletes, and there is good reason for that. Now, he is caught up in a domestic violence lawsuit with his ex. Also, reports are suggesting that in the most recent hearing, he made some pretty ridiculous assertions about an assassin.
All in all, his achievements are few and far between, and the only time he is ever mentioned is when something negative has happened. Perhaps, he is best known for his impressive number of rivals.
He has the reputation of being overly aggressive and overtly offensive at times. In turn, it was not surprising when it was revealed that he was being accused of domestic violence. According to CNN, the case just took a sharp right turn:
"NASCAR driver Kurt Busch, who has been accused by his ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll of domestic assault, testified in a court hearing Tuesday that he believes Driscoll is a trained assassin and that she once showed up wearing a gown covered in blood. While testifying in court in Dover, Delaware, over Driscoll's request for a no-contact order, Busch said that Driscoll is an assassin for the U.S. government who would go on covert missions around the world."
As ludicrous as this may seem to most people, Busch is known to stoop pretty low at times. In turn, his reputation has suffered, and according to Sporting News, he is hated by a lot of people:
"Busch, the 2004 Cup champion, is trying to revive his career and repair his image after a series of emotional outbursts and off-track incidents in the past [few] years. In 2006, Busch was third on GQ's list of most hated athletes. Busch had set out last year to improve his image. He ran decent for Phoenix Racing but a few weeks after NASCAR placed him on probation for driving recklessly on pit road at Darlington, he was suspended for a week for berating a Sporting News reporter."
