Whenever in public, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi go out of their way to look like the happiest couple on the face of the earth, but rumors still persist that behind closed doors it's another story entirely. According to the latest gossip news updates, Ellen and Portia are on the verge of divorce once again due to their near non-stop fighting. Word has it that the TV talk show host's marriage was on track following Portia reported release from rehab last spring, but DeGeneres recent refusal to attend their regular couples' counseling sessions combined with their constant arguing has Portia ready to call the lawyers to split their net worth.
Ellen DeGeneres has made it a point to periodically parade her wife, Portia de Rossie, out on her show to talk about what a perfect marriage they have, but for more than a year, some folks been insisting that their relationship is really more troubled than they would have you believe.
An source alleging to have inside knowledge claims in the latest January 25, issue of In Touch, that Ellen and Portia haven't been getting along so well when not on camera:
"One day she and Portia are acting like the happiest couple on Earth, then the next they'll be at each other's throats.
"They're always trying to downplay their problems, but privately they are still arguing over everything."
According to the informant, things between the ladies were improving until Ellen decided that she was no longer going to accompany Portia to their scheduled therapy sessions:
"Now Ellen's decided to stop going to marriage counseling.
"Portia was upset that Ellen bailed on their sessions...[but Ellen] thought it too time-consuming and a waste.
"I don't know how long they can last like this."
While Ellen DeGeneres has to have become, at least, somewhat used to have her relationship's publicly scrutinized by the media, this week the lovable comedian also addressed the assertions that her show is part of the entertainment industry's gay agenda (via Today):
"The only way I'm trying to influence people is to be more kind and compassionate with one another; that's the message I'm sending out...I don't have an agenda."
"Listen to the sound of my voice...Attention, youth of the world: I want you to live your lives, being exactly who you are.
"Be true to yourself. The most important thing is to be true to yourself."
You have to have to wonder if she is giving Portia the same advice.
