The new CW Arrow spin-off The Flash is proving to be quite the hit. The series starring Grant Gustin as the DC Comics icon recently won a People’s Choice Award. Now the show has officially been renewed for a second season.
During the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena, CW President Mark Pedowitz, announced the renewals of Arrow, Reign, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, The 100, The Originals, Jane the Virgin, and The Flash, stateing (via IGN):
“Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience. By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, mid-season and summer 2016 line-ups.”
The official Flash Facebook page announced the renewal to fans, writing:
“Here's the best news you'll receive all year. #The Flash has been#RENEWED for season 2!”
The Flash returns with new episodes on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 on The CW.
