Electronic Dream: AraabMUZIK, Mixtape Producer for the Stars, Hospitalized After Being Shot During Armed Robbery [VIDEO]

For professional use only: Abraham Orellana, the hip-hop producer known to legions of SoundCloud and YouTube users as AraabMUZIK, has been shot during a robbery gone wrong.

DukeDaGod, AraabMUZIK 's manager, posted the above Instagram photo (via Twitter) of a somber group surrounding Orellana's hospital bed.

Late Thursday evening, AraabMUZIK 's publicist confirmed both the shooting and the robbery for Billboard.

"Rumors have begun to circulate and first and foremost, we want to let everyone know that AraabMUZIK is currently alive and well," Orellana's camp said.

"He was out in his neighborhood last night with friends and unfortunately the victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is recovering now and police are investigating the crime. We appreciate all the concern and fan support and Araab is looking forward to a speedy recovery and returning to the stage as soon as he can."

Avatar Darko, a rapper who has collaborated with AraabMUZIK, tweeted, too.

He would tweet further.

And again, Darko's Twitter.

Both Dominican and Guatemalan--working through an Akai MPC, no less--no one is making better beats than AraabMUZIK.

In fact, he's produced tracks for such marquee names as A$AP Rocky, Fabolous, Danny Brown, 50 Cent and Eminem.

On his own, AraabMUZIK released the stellar Electronic Dream album in 2011.

Earlier this year, his For Professional Use Only mixtape dropped to great acclaim.

Classicalite, a longtime AraabMUZIK fan, wishes Abraham Orellana the speediest of recoveries.
