The Australian Ballet is performing "Swan Lake" at Lincoln Center in New York as part of its 50th anniversary celebration.
The company's performance offered a bland mix of classics and contemporary works. While paying homage to the Australian Ballet's history, it also features a royal twist.
"The show is based on the love triangle of Diana, Charles, and Camilla," said David McAllister, the creative director, in an interview with myfoxny.com.
The Australian Ballet, founded by J. C. Williamson Theatres Ltd. and the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust in 1962, is the largest classical ballet company in Australia and one of the world' major international ballet companies.
The "Swan Lake" by the Australian Ballet will be continued Friday through Sunday, at Lincoln Center's David H.Koch Theater.
