On the occasion of a cultural event organized by The Aspen Institute Arts Program, the U.N. High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, met with Ms. Renée Fleming, the celebrated soprano and musical ambassador.
Mr. Al-Nasser commended Ms. Fleming for her work in promoting education and community building through her music.
The U.N. High Representative discussed with Ms. Fleming "The Voices for Dialogue of Cultures," a project that the Alliance is currently developing, as well as his vision for using arts and music as one of the tools to foster the culture of peace.
On her part, Ms. Fleming expressed her enthusiasm and interest in lending her music and her recognition to facilitate cross-cultural dialogue and understanding.
The meeting took place at the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute.
