Jenna Coleman Confirms Clara Return as Dr Number 12 Peter Capaldi’s Companion in New BBC ‘Doctor Who’ Season After 2014 Christmas Special

Jenna Coleman has officially announced whether or not she will return to Doctor Who. The Clara actress has confirmed that she has signed to return as the Doctor’s companion. Fans got the news that Clara was sticking around at the end of the recent Christmas episode.

Jenna Coleman recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, where she confirmed that she will be returning to Doctor Who for another season/series:

"I get a whole other series of stories with the Doctor, and I couldn't walk away with the story being unresolved... I think [Clara and the Doctor] finally just reached a point where they really understand each other."

Jenna Coleman went on to talk about how Peter Capaldi’s arrival as the new Doctor has change everything for Clara:

"The arrival of the 12th Doctor has just kind of dropped this whole bombshell and allowed the dynamic to totally change, so I think just when Clara was feeling more comfortable in the relationship, it has suddenly thrown something new up."

Peter Capaldi, also commented on Jenna Coleman’s renewal:

"I'm thrilled. Jenna has just been fantastic and such a pleasure to work with."
