Just a little over a year after the death of Fast and Furious franchise icon, Paul Walker, and his memory is far from fading -- as evidenced by the multimillion dollar price tag his car from the fourth movie in the series is going to command at auction. According to the latest Furious 7 news updates, the 1998 Nissan Skyline that Brain raced against Vin Diesel's character and the rest of the cast in 2009 is predicted to sell at around $6,233,600. Shortly after director James Wan completed shooting, Vin Diesel admitted that he was heavily affected by the crash that claimed Paul's life . In a recent Facebook post, Vin recounted how a young fan's encouraging words in the wake of the tragedy brought him to tears on the spot.
When Paul Walker was so senselessly taken from his Fast and Furious fans it left a hole in the franchise and their hearts that will never be filled, but it also apparently made the intrinsic value of anything he ever touched shoot right through the roof.
The Daily Mail has reported that the German owner of the ultramarine-blue R34 Nissan Skyline that Walker drove in Fast and Furious 4 is putting the one of a kind car up for sale.
The prized UK publication claims that Peter Kolbeck expects to get anywhere from £600,000 and £4 million ($623,360-$6.23 million) for the highly modified movie car, because it also has the incredible racing pedigree to match its incredibly high profile:
"Under the bonnet is a twin-turbo 2.6-litre straight-six engine with a Turbonetics front-mounted intercooler and all four wheels receive around 550bhp via a six-speed Getrag shifter.
"The racing machine features Nismo lowering springs, a custom roll cage, an ARC titanium strut tower bar, Volk racing wheels, a Rotora big brake conversion, a Nismo bumper and side skirts, no rear seats, a Momo Alcantara steering wheel, Nismo pedals and a custom head up display for a dash-mounted PC."
Paul Walker's Hollywood bestie and Fast and Furious 7 costar, Vin Diesel, recently recounted a touching story about a young fan giving gift him and a few words of encouragement on his Facebook page:
"A kid who had traveled far, just to be there [at the trailer release event] that Saturday morning, actually gave me a gift.
"It was a little blue toy car...he said it was Paul's car...naturally that moved me.
"Then he said with a kind of profound wisdom...'He is with you Dom...keep going.'"
Thankfully we will all be able to remember Paul Walker through the many Fast and Furious films that he has left for us...but probably no one quite as much as whomever winds up buying the super-sweet AWD Skyline.
