Master P is best well known for his rap career, however he carries many other titles, and interestingly, one of them was almost professional basketball player in the NBA. After revisiting the books, it even looks like his skills on the court earned him a scholarship to play for the University of Houston. Also in recent news, P. Miller called out Kobe Bryant on his Lakers poor season.
Master P's career has been impressive; he has donned the hat of rapper, actor, entrepreneur, investor, author, filmmaker, producer and philanthropist. He is the founder of No Limit Forever Records and the C.E.O. of P. Miller Enterprises. In his rap career, his biggest singles to date, "Make 'Em Say Uhh!," went double platinum. His son, Lil Romeo, is also a successful performer and pop culture personality.
In recent news, however, the spotlight has been turned on Master P's past in basketball.
According to Deadspin, he had a real chance in the NBA:
"Probably the most famous of all rapper/ballers, Master P was also the best. Most fans recall his attempts to catch on in the NBA (with the Charlotte Hornets and the Toronto Raptors, both in training camp), but less well known is that he actually got a scholarship from the University of Houston..."
So, why didn't he stay after a career in the league? According to TMZ Sports, if he had he would show Kobe a thing or two:
"Master P has a sure fire plan to turnaround this painful Lakers season -- just give him a little run, and he'll do what Kobe Bryant hasn't been able to do ... not yet, anyway. Mr. 'Make Em' Say Uhh' told us he can provide something for the Lake show no one else can. Master P even called out the Mamba, saying ... 'I played against Kobe. He knows what's up... He just needs somebody real out there with him...'"
