Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers haven't had as great of a season this year as in the past. One columnist suggests that, due to his appearance, Kaepernick isn't an appropriate candidate for his position of quarterback. However, teammates like Antoine Bethea think Colin is just the man the teams needs. He says Colin rallied the boys in his most recent confrontation with the Raiders' Sio Moore.
Kaepernick is the current starting quarterback for San Francisco. The 27-year-old has been with the team since he was drafted into the league in 2011 and in 2012 he led the 49ers to a NFC Championship and then to the Super Bowl.
Before that, he played college ball for theUniversity of Nevada Wolf Pack. While in Nevada, He was awarded Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, twice.
Now -- as the leader of the San Francisco team -- Kaepernick is closely examined by the public eye. According to FOX Sports, one particular columnist wrote a controversial piece on Colin and why he doesn't look like an appropriate candidate for quarterback:
"Colin Kaepernick's arms are full of tattoos. This apparently ensures that the San Francisco quarterback can never be a legitimate hero for the NFL - or even the 49ers.That's what it may sound like [one columnist] thinks, at least. The columnist penned a controversial piece on Thursday centered entirely on Kaepernick's ink...'NFL quarterback is the ultimate position of influence and responsibility,' he writes. 'He is the CEO of a high-profile organization, and you don't want your CEO to look like he just got paroled.'"
On the other hand, Colin's teammates would certiantly disagree. According to TMZ Sports, Antoine Bethea recently commented on how Kaepernick really pumped his team up after confronting Oakland Raiders' Sio Moore.
"... Kaepernick got into a heated spat with Sio Moore in the tunnel at last week's game...with Moore calling the QB a 'bitch ass motherf**ker...Kap is a grown man and he won't let ANYBODY disrespect him like that...The guys in the locker room love seeing when your leader steps up like that. It makes us all rally behind him and get ready for these last few weeks and fight to get in (the playoffs). Trust me, we are not worried about Sio and what the Raiders are doing. They got the victory and we look forward to getting our team ready for next week."
