Tonight, Fox’s hit Zooey Deschanel comedy series, New Girl is all new with its Christmas episode. WWE legend Mick Foley was asked to play Santa in tonight’s episode, but had to tap out after finding out what the role required. Now we me may never get that Zooey / Mankind duet of “Baby its Cold Outside.”
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of New Girl, titled “LAXmas,” reads:
“The gang can use a little help from Santa as they prepare to scatter for the holidays but get stuck at the airport.”

WWE superstar, Mick Foley (Cactus Jack, Dude Love, Mankind, St Mick) was originally asked to play Santa in tonight’s episode. However, the Christmas enthusiast had to decline, because of the show’s racy portal of Santa, as he detailed via his Facebook:
“How in the world do you say no to one of your favorite actresses, Zooey Deschanel when it comes to doing a scene with her on one of your favorite shows, New Girl - especially when getting to play the role of Santa Claus for the Christmas episode of the show?
“It wasn't easy. In fact, it was heartbreaking! I got the inquiry from my agent (I wasn't definitely ‘in’, but really think I would have gotten the role) and was absolutely thrilled...until I saw that the role called for me to be a rather sleazy St Nick, throwing some sexual innuendos at the lovely Ms Deschanel--and unfortunately, I just can't do that as Santa.”
