In the wake of The Iron Lady's death, one irreverent Facebook group has helped propel the latter, Judy Garland & Co.'s tune from The Wizard of Oz, to the top of the pops on iTunes and Amazon.
"Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" has sold nearly 11,000 copies and is only about 5,000 units away from a midweek Top 3 spot.
Currently, the tune teeters at number two on the iTunes download chart. It is already number one at Amazon.
Meanwhile, cover versions of the original (such as this gleeful one below) continue to count as different recordings and have to chart on their own...just as Thatcher would've wanted.
The former prime minister, whom Morrissey called "a terror without an atom of humanity," was 87.
Which is which--R.I.P. or Ding Dong!--for you?
