The series premiere on TNT’s The Librarians airs tonight. The new show is an extension of Noah Wyle (E.R. Falling Skies) TNT film series, The Librarian. The show also star X-Men’s Mystique, Rebecca Romijn. Check the preview for the lowdown on the new series.
The official plot synopsis for tonight's premiere episode of The Librarians, titled “And the Crown of King Arthur; And the Sword in the Stone,” reads:
“A mysterious someone is killing potential librarians in the premiere of this series about a group trying to protect the world's mystical treasures. Also: The Serpent Brotherhood sets out to return magic to the world?”
Know we know what you are thinking, Does this new show mean Noah Wyle is leaving Falling Skies? No, Noah gets to do both, as Librarians executive producer John Rogers, explains to TV Guide:
"My mandate was to expand the franchise -- make it bigger than just one character and create a world in which Noah, who's been busy working on Falling Skies, could come back whenever he wants."
Rebecca Romijn also opened up how she got involved in the show:
"The first thing that appealed to me about the series is the genre. When Noah told me that his character is 'Indiana Jones as played by Don Knotts,' that really appealed to me. Eve is the audience's voice: a skeptic who has no idea what the Library is and thinks the idea of magic is silly, until she's chasing a Minotaur and fighting off living fairy-tale characters!"
Be sure to check out the premiere episode of The Librarians, tonight at 8:00 p.m. eastern on TNT.
