NBC New Matt Ryan ‘Constantine’ Episode Spoilers: DC Vertigo Show Not Picked up For Full Season, Fans Start Renewal Petition After Cancellation Rumors

Tonight, NBC’s adaptation of The DC/Vertigo Comics Hellblazer series, Constantine is all new. Check out the episode preview to see what is in store for John Constantine (Matt Ryan), tonight. It was recently announced that the show will not be picked out for full season, leading many to assume that it will not be renewed for a second season. Now fans have started a petition to save the series from cancellation.

The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of Constantine, titled “Blessed Are the Damned,” reads:

“Zed's bizarre vision of snakes leads her and John to a small town where a preacher has mysteriously gained the ability to perform miracles.”

Constantine has not been picked up for a full season, however, that doesn’t mean that the show is doomed. NBC’s Hannibal is expected to return to its time slot in 2015.

The same thing happened with Fox’s hit series Sleepy Hollow last year, when it withheld a back nine order to make room for The Following season 2.

Still, some fans are not taking any chances, starting a petition to save the series.

The online i petition, aptly titled Save Constantine pleads the case for a second season, writing:

“NBC has not ordered a full season for Constantine despite it's above average initial ratings and increasing quality and fanbase. The show is doing well for it's circumstances: it has one of the worst time slots imaginable, 10 pm on Friday nights.

“Matt Ryan is perfect as John Constantine, the show is getting better each week, and last episode saw a 38% bump in the ratings and an 87% viewer retention rating (after Grimm) with the introduction of The Spectre.”

You can sign the petition here. You can also help Save Constantine, by tuning into the all new episode, tonight at 10:00 p.m. eastern on NBC.
