Michael Phelps is one of the most popular and well-known Olympic swimmers in the U.S. However, being in the public eye has illuminated a lot of Michael's personal problems. Classicalite previously reported that Phelps could possibly be involved with a transsexual individual. These claims started poking up right around the time the 29-year-old gold medalist announced he was going to rehab after his second DUI arrest. Now, Phelps is out of rehab and apparently back together with 2010's Miss California.
Some people drink because they have a bad job, or maybe because a tough divorce has left them with nothing. Not Phelps.
Apparently, achieving so much popularity has lead to something of a party boy lifestyle for Phelps. The gold-medal winning Olympian was recently arrested for his second DUI. According to official documents, Phelps was pulled over driving 85 mph in a 15 mph zone.
Phelps then took to Twitter, where he revealed he would be taking some time away from swimming:
"He was arrested early Tuesday morning in Maryland after allegedly driving 85 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone while intoxicated." Phelps then went on twitter and stated that, "Swimming is a major part of my life, but right now I need to focus my attention on me as an individual, I'm going to take some time away to attend a program that will provide the help I need to better understand myself."
Hopefully, for Michael's sake, this program has provided him with the tools he needs to get back to work. Also, it would seem that this attempt to better himself has provided Phelps with the opportunity to bet back together with on old girlfriend, Miss California. TMZ has the news on the recent pageantry:
"Michael Phelps is finally out of rehab -- but it seems like he's already picked up an old habit ... Miss California. Nearly two months after entering a treatment center for his second DUI arrest, Phelps spent his Thanksgiving with family members ... and on-and-off girlfriend Nicole Johnson (Miss California 2010). Phelps and Johnson have been together ... and then not together ... and then together again ... since 2007. According to Johnson, they're officially back-on ... and even had a movie "date night" last week."
