Christopher Walken might be playing “the creepiest creep in the world,” Captain Hook, in NBC’s Peter Pan Live this week, but Colin O'Donoghue’s take on the character is a little bit more charming. The hook-handed heartthrob, has charmed his way into leading man status on ABC’s Once Upon A Time. However, now that his has been ripped from his chest, and the Frozen Snow Queen’s spell of shattered sight is on its way, things are not looking so good for Hook. Now Hook is having to say goodbye to his true love, Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), and possibly for good? Could Captain Hook die in tonight’s fall finale?
The spell of shattered sight, combined with his now found heartless status, has forced Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) to say goodbye to Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison). O’Donoghue recently told Entertainment Weekly that the goodbye might be permanent:
“Everybody thinks the goodbye is because of the spell and he’d have to chain himself to the docks so he doesn’t hurt her, but in actual fact in Hook’s mind, he’s going to be dead, Rumple’s going to kill him. That’s his final goodbye.”
O’Donoghue went on to talk about the emotional toll of the farewell:
“It’s heartbreaking for him because there’s so much that he wishes he could’ve experienced with Emma and told her. I’m sure he’s full of regret for all the wrong things that he’s done, but in that moment, it is simply just him saying goodbye to the woman he loves. She doesn’t quite fully know exactly how powerful that is for him because she thinks she’ll cure the spell and she’ll find him and it’ll all be fine, but in his mind, it won’t be.”
