Seattle Seahawk’s Richard Sherman NFL Feud: Tackles 49ers After Impressive Awards, Stats and ‘Madden 15’ Cover [UPDATE]

Seattle Seahawk’s corner back, Richard Sherman, may have an impressive NFL career, however, that doesn’t mean that the pro-athlete hasn’t had a hiccup or two. Sherman’s latest feud involves the San Francisco 49ers, who Richard bashed over Thanksgiving. To some, this may come off as a bit petty, especially when one factors in that Sherman has been incredibly blessed, possessing a number of impressive awards, killer stats and even a cover on the popular Madden 15 series.

Right now, Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks is probably the most popular corner back in the NFL. His list of achievements are daunting and ever expanding. He has more interceptions and defended passes than any other player. This contributed to the Seahawks having the best defense of any other team last year, and, of course, a Super Bowl victory.

This was the Seahawks' first championship, and boy was it a doozy. Their win over the Denver Broncos (43-8) tied the record for third biggest marginal victory in Super Bowl history. Sherman has benefited in some pretty glamorous ways, too.

Last year, he was awarded with "The Best Break Through Athlete ESPY Award." Also, this year Sherman was on the cover of the insanely popular video game, Madden 15. However, Sherman has let the fame get to him, and as a result, he has been involved in some disrespectful interviews, and -- more recently -- a jab at the 49ers.

Anyone would be proud of such a repertoire of accomplishments, but the key is to not let it puff up your ego. Sherman, as TMZ previously reported, hasn't done such a good job at that part:

"Richard Sherman slammed NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell over the massive fine he dropped on Marshawn Lynch for not talking to the media ... by accusing the league of being two-faced...Sherman and Doug Baldwin (hiding behind a cardboard cutout of himself) held a pretty shocking news conference today where they openly mocked the league policy forcing players to talk to reporters. The duo talked excessively, but only about things the league does NOT want them discussing. They shouted out personal sponsors -- including Beats by Dre -- which the league banned players from wearing on game day because of a deal with Bose. Then Sherman went nuclear, calling out the league for saying it's dedicated to "player safety" ... while making them play 2 games within 5 days. A blatant shot at Thursday night games."

Now, after the Seahawks' recent victory over the San Francisco 49ers, Sherman is at it again. Onlookers might come to the conclusion that Richard could be leaving football in the near future to start his career as a stand up comedian. Sports blog Terez Owens outlines the Thanksgiving Day Buffoonery:

"For the second time in 5 days the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks dismantled another great team. After the win, Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman enjoyed some Turkey right on the 49ers logo. Colin Kaepernick looked awful..."

This disrespect is uncalled for and unsportsmanlike. One would think, based on the NFL's track record, some kind of consequences has to be right around the corner. What are your opinions on the situation? Let us know in the comment section below.
