The new totals for tonight’s Mega Millions lottery game are now at $26 million, with an estimated cash value of $15 mill.
The Mega Millions lotter has issued a press release about a lucky winner who is missing out on $1,000,000:
“TRENTON, N.J. - Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery Executive Director, announced that a New Jersey Lottery player has not claimed their second prizewinning ticket worth $1,000,000 from the Tuesday, December 17, 2013 Mega Millions drawing. She said that the ticket will expire on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 if not validated.
“That $1,000,000 winning ticket was purchased at Kartik Food & News Store, 1198 Raritan Road, Cranford in Union County. “Everyone plays the lottery to win so when there are unclaimed winning New Jersey Lottery tickets we spread the word,” said Hedinger. Players should check their tickets regularly because draw-based winning tickets must be claimed within one year from the date of the draw or they will expire.
“The winning numbers from the Tuesday, December 17, 2013 draw were: 08, 14, 17, 20 and 39. The Gold Mega Ball was 07, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 04. The second prize-winning ticket would have matched the five white balls correctly.
“Anyone holding this winning ticket should immediately sign the back of the ticket and contact Lottery Headquarters at 609-599-5801 or visit any Lottery retailer to validate the ticket and file their claim.
“The State receives a minimum of 30 percent of the unclaimed prize money annually to fund Lottery beneficiaries. Please visit the NJLottery.net website and select the Where Lottery Money Goes tab to see where the State Treasury allocates Lottery revenue. Special player promotions and Second Chance drawings, such as the Million Dollar Replay program, are also funded by the unclaimed prize fund, returning unclaimed winnings back to the Lottery playing public.”
