Sans Klinghoffer, The Metropolitan Opera Presale for Puccini's 'La Boheme' Up for Grabs Featuring Soprano Kristine Opolais

The Metropolitan Opera has come back from a lot this year: a financial meltdown and a controversial staging of John Adams masterpiece The Death of Klinghoffer. Now, the latest program is a brilliant rendition of Puccini's classic La Bohème, which begins Friday, Nov. 14.

Produced by Franco Zeffirelli, this take on Puccini's most popular opera, which is the immortal tale of a tragic young love, is set among the rooftops of bohemian Paris. As is with previous performances, this one should also be of the notable variety.

For attendees, the role of Mimi is shared by Sonya Yoncheva, Angela Gheorghiu and Latvian soprano Kristine Opolais who perform alongside Ramón Vargas, Bryan Hymel, and Jean-François Borras as they channel the poet Rodolfo.

Conductor Riccardo Frizza takes on the orchestra and the production will, of course, be sung in Italian with Met Titles in English, German, Italian and Spanish.

Tickets are posted on the website and feature weekday and weekend performances with final a matinee Saturday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m.

Don't miss out on a extraordinary performance showcasing various talents from across the world.

Until then, get your kicks with an earlier rendition by the Met featuring current performers Vargas and Gheorghiu.
