TNT’s Franklin and Bash has officially been canceled. It is the end of an area. OK, so maybe that is a little dramatic, but at TNT, they know drama. Following the cancellation, Breckin Meyer (Garfield, Robot Chicken) took to Twitter to say his goodbyes.
Breckin Meyer spoke up about the cancellation via Twitter, embracing the long-running joke, about who was Franklin and who was Bash:
“Best 4 years & the best fans! Will someone at least tell me if I was Franklin or Bash!? @MPG, you may now finally step off my coattails.”
For those of you trying to play along at home, Meyer was really Franklin….we think.
Meyer followed up his first message, with a round of thanks yous:
“Many thank yous & love to Sony, TNT, our incredible crew, writing staff, producers and most of all to the FandB fans for a great 4 years!”
The decision to pull the series, likely came as part of TNT’s new ediger direction, as David Levy, president of Turner Broadcasting told Deadline:
“We are going to get edgier, we are going to get louder, and we are going to get more dual (male-female), but we also have an existing audience, we have an existing fan base with a lot of our very popular shows. It’s an evolution, a bridge-type process that will take place as opposed to a turnaround. You are going to see shows like Legends and Public Morals that are going to bring us on a path to a more edgier type of shows; this is a path we are taking.”
