After facing a number of cheating allegations and divorce rumors, Jay Z recently received another bit of bad news. The world-famous rapper may soon be deposed in a major lawsuit launched against his company. Beyonce, on the other hand, is facing much more pleasant rumors, as some tabloids are claiming that she is pregnant with the couple's second child.
It seems like no matter what Beyonce and Jay Z do, the A-list duo just can't escape the glare of the tabloid industry. While much of their focus is on the couple's relationship, this week saw a turn of events.
Turns out that Jay Z's highly profitable company, Roc-A-Fella Records, is under attack. According to NY Daily News, Mr. Dwayne Walker is suing Roc for millions:
"A member of the Roc-A-Fella army is going to have to testify under oath...A Manhattan federal judge recently ordered that one of Jay Z's founding business partners, Damon Dash, be deposed in a $7 million lawsuit over royalties stemming from Roc-A-Fella Records' logo."
It remains unclear whether Jay Z will be deposed in the case. While Jay Z certainly could be commanded to testify before the court, Judge Ronald Ellis has so far rejected requests from the plaintiff's attorney to summon Jay.
This is likely good news for Jay Z, who has also been battling a wave of negative press in recent months. Following Jay Z and Solange Knowles' now epic elevator fight, the "99 Problems" singer and his marriage has been under constant scrutiny.
But that, too, seems to be improving. After all, he and Beyonce have been spotted laying on the PDA at a number of public events. This was certainly true last week, when the usually reclusive couple had yet another date night (via E! News):
"The On the Run couple attended the premiere of Jake Gyllenhaal's latest film, Nightcrawler, last night at AMC Lincoln Square...Bey and Jay arrived at the theater together and took an elevator straight up to the floor where the screening was, but not before posing for photos on the red carpet with the man of the hour. Gyllenhaal has been getting major buzz for his role as a fairly creepy individual who starts selling footage of accidents and crime scenes to media outlets..."
What do you think about the latest reports? Will Jay Z have to testify? Is his marriage really falling apart, or are those rumors just more lies from the tabloids?
