If you asked some of their former business partners they'll tell you that Real Housewives of Orange County Season 9 cast member Vicki Gunvalson and her boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, have thought so little of each other for so long that nothing anyone could say to the one about the other could possibly affect their opinion for better or worse. According to the gossip news updates, court document recaps suggest the pair have split up so many times over accusations of lying, cheating and stealing that there is no way to possibly prove defamation of character. on the other end of the spectrum--former Housewife, Gretchen Rossi really loves her boyfriend, Slade Smiley, and can't wait to be married to have his baby. After being attacked for using her failed attempt at conceiving through IVF to drum up attention for a new reality TV show, Rossi defended her baby plans of Twitter.
Vicki Gunvalson and her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, have been in court with their former business partners ever since the company they started together, Vicki's Vodka, went tits-up last year.
Brooks has since alleged that his business partner's mistress caused him personal pain and suffering by spreading a bunch of lies about him stealing from the company to his lady love, Vicki, via text message.
According to that mistress, Angela Torres, there is no way that she or anyone else could ever be blamed for the way Vicki and Brooks feel about or treat each other.
In the court documents obtained by Radar Online, Torres' lawyers made a persuasive argument for the dismissal of any defamation of character claims again their client, since she is only being accused of having sent the text to Gunvalson--who reportedly already had an irreparable opinion of Ayers:
"Vicki's opinion of Ayers had not changed as a result of Torres' text messages and therefore, Torres' statements cannot be defamatory as a matter of law.
"There was significant damage existing in their relationship and Ayers had already severely tarnished whatever reputation for honesty and truthfulness he had in Vicki's eyes well before Torres' alleged statements.
"Vicki was the only audience that Ayers alleges received Torres' text messages.
"Therefore, unless Vicki's opinions of Ayers were lowered as a result of Torres' text message statements, the statements are not defamatory as a matter of law and cannot support Ayers' defamation claim."
In related news, Gretchen Rossi is also defending herself this week against accusations that she too insists are as baseless as they are insensitive.
Gretchen Rossi took the time out during Slade's birthday to tell the world know, according to RealityTea, that she was every bit as crazy about her fiancé now as when the first met.
But when one Twitter follower attacked Gretchen's motivations for having Slade's baby, she called the ill-informed gossip monger right out on Twitter:
When is Bravo going to step up and do whatever it has to to get Rossi and her boyfriend back on this show for Season 10.
