The hit CW series, The Vampire Diaries is all new tonight, with a killer new episode. This season has introduced us, (and Damon and Bonnie) to Kai, the unpredictable othersider. Now, Kai actor, Chris Wood is opening up about his crazy new character.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of The Vampire Diaries, titled “The World Has Turned and Left Me Here,” reads:
“Elena invites Liam to attend a party at the corn maze; Caroline helps Stefan clean up a mess created by Enzo; Alaric and Jo try to save lives after a devastating accident; Tyler is put in a dangerous position when his werewolf curse is put to the test; Damon and Bonnie make an important discovery that affects their quest to get back home.”
Newcomer, Chris Wood, recently opened up to Entertainment Weekly about the psychotic Kai:
“I’m going to be biased, because I have to walk around in his skin, and if I thought that I was irredeemable, I might have a harder time existing in the world. So I found some great ground to stand on to justify a lot of Kai’s behavior, and I won’t go into it because then I’m going to seem like a psycho. The reality is that this guy’s, in a word, erratic. He is the most unpredictable character that anyone has ever faced on the show, and not just from a plotting standpoint or a means of executing villainous behavior, but simply because this guy’s mind does not work like the rest of the characters. You can’t ever for a second assume that what he’s done before, he’s going to do again, or if he says that he’s going to do one thing that he’s going to come through and do it because his behavior has, already in two episodes proven to be, I wouldn’t say untrustworthy but it’s erratic. He starts in one place and he ends in another and it’s never where you thought he was going to be. He can be very entertaining and funny to watch, but also as the season progresses, we might see that that’s really where the terror of the character comes from.”
Check out Kai in all his crazy glory, tonight at 8:00 p.m on The CW.
