It's just days until Universal finally releases the much anticipated Fast and Furious 7 trailer November 1, but for those that just can't wait a Paul Walker, whose autopsy update revealed was still alive immediately after last year's crash, 6 move franchise retrospective has been released. Instead of letting Vin Diesel break the news per usual, the studio decided to launch the memorial teaser video themselves with micro-clips of the new movie sequel being posted to their Facebook page every day until the new trailer makes its debut.
Not only is the release of the new Fast and Furious 7 movie trailer scheduled to for this Saturday, when it does arrive it will have a brand new name.
According to multiple sources the studio has renamed the film, Furious 7, perhaps in an attempt to highlight the revenge element of the plot while at the same time making a clear distinction from the original film they set out to make over a year ago.
In addition to revealing the new posters for the flick, Universal has uploaded a few videos to Facebook--including a Paul Walker Fast and Furious career retrospective--to whet everyone's appetites in preparation for the main course coming this weekend.
Other than insisting that this going to be the best Fast film that you have ever seen, the movie's official website still doesn't give you much in the way of clues to what the new installment is actually going to be about (via MTV):
"Continuing the global exploits in the unstoppable franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of Furious 7.
"James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series that also welcomes back favorites Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black.
"They are joined by international action stars new to the franchise including Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell. Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel and Michael Fottrell return to produce the film written by Chris Morgan."
Apparently planning to launch a seven-second clip of the movie every day the entire week leading up to the trailer's release--the studio producers also posted a video of some of the more exotic locations and cars of Furious 7.
At this point, it is honestly refreshing to see the studio give Vin Diesel a little break as they transition to promoting this movie though venues other than Diesel's Favebook account.
