British pop star Ed Sheeran says he was out of line when he referred to Miley Cyrus VMA twerking as nothing more than "stripper" moves not fit for the eyes of small children. According to the latest gossip news updates, the "Sing" singer was a little boozed up that night and got his words, if not thoughts, entirely mixed up. Proving he really has a big heart--Taylor Swift's tabloid boyfriend didn't even take the bait to blast ex-girlfriend Ellie Goulding and One Direction ex-friend Niall Horan for being dirty low-down cheaters during a recent discussion over his hit "Don't". The soulful Brit explained that all was forgiven as soon as the song was written, and now the tune is about the emotions--not the folks--that inspired it.
Taylor Swift's favorite English artist, Ed Sheeran, doesn't want you or Mily Cyrus to judge him for the comments he made about her dancing during last year's MTV Video Music Awards--probably because it wasn't very nice (via MTV News):
"I think encouraging young people to twerk might be a bad thing.
"It's a stripper's move.
"If I had a daughter of nine, I wouldn't want her twerking."
During a recent interview the UK's Sun, Sheeran explained that he had a couple of drinks that night and his mouth wasn't working in complete conjunction with his brain (via Inquisitr):
"I was a bit of a c--t.
"I do feel bad about it as I'd be f--king livid if someone said that about me.
"My general point was I wanted her to sing the songs so people could see what an amazing artist she is...I just worded it wrong."
While, Ed admits that not a word seems out of place in his hit from last April, "Don't", that doesn't mean he is still carrying around all the awful feelings and resentments that inspired the songin the first place:
"I got over the anger the moment I wrote the song....That's the end of it.
"I'm grateful I could get a song out of it, to be honest.
"I don't feel it's about anyone anymore, I'm not attached to that."
And who could stay mad at the lovable Eddie Sheeran...he and Miley Cyrus will probably even be besties before Taylor Swift can say "new album boyfriend leak".
