Kronos Quartet Named Big Ears' 2015 'Artists-in-Residence,' Weekend Passes on Sale November 14

Always garnering significant excitement and attention, the Big Ears Festival is gearing up for its March 27–29 run in 2015. Next year, they will premiere the heralded Kronos Quartet as their 2015 Artists-in-Residence.

You know the festival, the Knoxville, Tennessee version of the hot and uncomfortable festivals in the summer, premiering various techno drek and a handful of barely discernible pop garbage, right?

Wrong. The festival brings together some of the most revered classical, jazz, rock and percussion groups to one stage for a 3-day long jam fest. Last year, Steve Reich took to the festival as their Artist-in-Residence, performing alongside Televsision, John Cale, noise-duo Body/Head and many more.

Getting amped? Continue to, because the initial lineup will be announced November 11 and weekend passes hit the internet on Friday, November 14.

But as the flyer indicates, they "encourage everyone to get out and support [their] local government by participating in the upcoming election" since they moved their lineup announcement out of the way to accomodate politics.

Thanks, but give me the music instead, man.
