Anna Netrebko couldn't stay out of the limelight if she tried. As its been reported, the opera diva will take her talents over to the Ruskies in motherland Russia on October 28, marking her first Bolshoi Theater performance ever.
The concert will occur within the Opera Ball in honor of the 75th Anniversary of Bolshoi Theatre darling Elena Obraztsova. News was announced on Monday (October 20) via General Director of the Bolshoi Theater, Vladimir Urin.
Other acts to follow the sopranos trip abroad include fiancé Yusif Eyvazov, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Maria Guleghina and more.
News of the performance came after Norman Lebrecht at Slipped Disc reported that the singer and peer Piotr Beczala discovered that they are back-to-back neighbors in both New York and Vienna.
And as he points out, "Must make morning warm-ups a whole lot easier."
A futile effort, getting tickets to the new show might be close to impossible. Regardless, this should be a monumental occasion for performers and listeners alike.
