NBC Jesse Spencer ‘Chicago Fire’ New Episode Before ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Crossover After Lauren German Gay Shay Death [SPOILERS]

NBC’s hit firefighter drama, Chicago Fire is new tonight, after the recent death of Lauren German’s lesbian character Shay. The hit Jesse Spencer series will soon be crossing over with its Sophia Bush’s lead spin-off Chicago PD and the long running Law & Order: SVU.

The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode “Apologies Are Dangerous,”reads:

“Dawson tries to strike a balance with Casey during her first day as a candidate. Meanwhile, Mills ponders an uncertain future; Severide faces his demons; and a city inspector visits Molly's.”

We are just one month away from the upcoming Chicago Fire crossover, with its own spin-off Chicago PD as well creator Dick Wolf’s other series, Law and Order: SVU.

Wolf, recently released a statement about next month’s crossover event, telling the press, reading (via E! News)

"Warren Leight (SVU showrunner) and Matt Olmstead (Chicago Fire/Chicago PD showrunner) are two of the best writers in the business. We wanted to figure out a way to create a crime that connects all three shows. Warren, Matt and I came up with a story that was big and unique enough to transit to all three."

In the first episode of the current season, we said goodbye to Shay, played by Lauren German. Following her character’s shocking death, Lauren tweeted her goodbyes to the series, writing:

Following the airing of the episode, Lauren said her goodbyes to the show, the fans and the character in a string of Tweets, reading:

“Hello beautiful people! I want to say thank you to NBC, Dick Wolf and the entire team for letting me be a part of such an amazing experience.”

“I have to say I've never been around a more gifted, special, heartfelt, funny and loving cast and crew as with the CF gang. The show gave me.”

“beautiful. It was a great honor to portray Shay. I love her: her spirit, her flaws, her honesty. And most of all she brought me the most.”
