Tonight, ABC’s Castle is all new. The series stars Firefly’s Nathan Fillion, who is a fan favorite the role of Nathan Drake in the film adaptation of the hit PlayStation video game, Uncharted. Mark Wahlberg was once signed on for the role, but dropped out along with the then director David O. Russell. Now Sony has released an new trailer for the upcoming game, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, where the lead looks an awful lot Fillion.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of Castle, titled “Clear & Present Danger,” reads:
“A pool shark's death is investigated, and evidence suggests the killer may possess supernatural abilities. Meanwhile, Castle and Beckett try to resume their ordinary lives and move on from his disappearance.”
Nathan Fillion is a fan favorite for the role of Nathan Drake in the upcoming Uncharted film. How could he not be? Just look at the character.
Where it can be argued that the character is designed to look a little like voice actor Nolan North, Sony has recently released a new trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, with a very familiar looking Nathan Drake. Check out trailer below to see for yourself:
Back in 2011, Fillion spoke to Screen Rant about his conditions for the role :
“I am certainly still interested in playing Nathan Drake. I think every actor I know wants their action-adventure hero, their Indiana Jones. That would be a good one for me, I think. What I don’t want is people pressuring that poor man [The director at the time, Neil Burger] and souring him on the actual idea. If we could somehow just… do you remember the movie Inception? I think that’s what we need to do. We need to let him land on the idea on his own.”
