Even though it would, no doubt, warm the cockles of many a tween heart, Insurgent superstars Shailene Woodley and Theo James aren't dating and never have been. Before the Underworld star can make Shai something more than his on-screen lover he would have to first split with longtime girlfriend, Ruth Kearney. Woodley's reoccurring movie boyfriend, Miles Teller, drew a lot of heat for his comments about how making Divergent had left him feeling dead inside, but the Whiplash Oscar contender has since defended his role in the movie as something that was a means to an end as well as a much needed Hollywood learning experience.
Whether you believe it was because Emma Stone didn't want to have to worry about Shailene Woodley stealing the show or the powers that be really did just want to focus on first Spider-Man romance, the Divergent franchise star had her scenes cut form The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
That doesn't mean that Shai has been automatically cut from the sequel, however, reports the folks in the know over at Movie Pilot.
According to the dedicated fanboys [and fangirls] at the entertainment website, Shailene is a shoo-in to play Mary Jane in Spidey 3--just as long as they don't bring back a reanimated Gwen Stacy like her professor, Dr. Miles Warren, did in the original comics.
Speaking of rethinking how everything worked out--Divergent costar Miles Teller seems more than happy to take back all the misconstrued comments he made about how awful it was to work on the franchise in W Magazine.
In addition to his tweet that contradicted the reports that he only took the action role for the money, Miles told VH1 that he jumped at the opportunity to work on the Veronica Roth inspired film for a myriad reason:
"I thought it would be an excuse to get into pretty god shape."With Peter...I feel like they were giving me a good opportunity to switch my image--I had never done an action movie."It was with Shai again. Kate Winslet was also in it...and Neil Burger, who directed Limitless, was also in it."It was a very cool project for me, and I never done a film that shot that money days.
"So, it's good to get that kind of training."
It looks like Miles must have remembered that he hasn't won that Oscar for Whiplash just yet.
