There has been another tragic turn of events in the mental health of struggling actress Amanda Bynes. The celebrity experienced a bit of a rehab setback, which likely led to her latest DUI arrest. The charges reportedly stemmed from drug use and not alcohol, as previously reported. To make matters worse, there are reports that Bynes went missing, leaving her family concerned for her wellbeing.
A truly sad situation has apparently gone from bad to worse.
According to multiple reports, Amanda Bynes fled Los Angeles for NYC, after her high-profile DUI arrest last week.
The actress is said to be suffering from a mental illness and believes that she is communicating with trees. Unfortunately, her erratic behavior started before she even left L.A.
According to TMZ, Amanda has been acting increasingly bizarre:
"Amanda was at LAX Thursday night at an airport restaurant, acting bizarre, painting her face with excessive amounts of makeup...Sources connected to Amanda tell us she was visibly high all day, talking to herself and complaining about her life."
This certainly seems in line with other reports we've seen, which seem to suggest that Bynes is self-medicating. While some details remain unknown about the arrest, E! Online is reporting that Amanda was not drunk, but instead on drugs-which may have been prescribed to her:
"The 28-year-old starlet, who seemed to be healthily rebounding after a slew of legal troubles and other issues culminated in a nearly six-month hospitalization last year, was arrested very early Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence. According to authorities, it was determined at the California Highway Patrol West Valley Office that she was under the influence of a yet-to-be-revealed controlled substance."
What do you think about the latest reports? Do you think Amanda should return to rehab? Are drugs to blame for her declining mental health?
