Instagram Shailene Woodley and Theo James Dating Split: Boyfriend Miles Teller Defends Insulting ‘Divergent’ Interview? [VIDEO NEWS]

Despite anything you might have heard, newly blond Shailene Woodley isn't dating her Insurgent boyfriend, Theo Jams, and never has been. Before the Underworld action star could even dream of officially making a play for the hot Instagram bikini feet model, he would have to split with his longtime girlfriend, Ruth Kearney. According to the latest gossip news updates, Shai's other recurring on-screen boyfriend, Miles Teller, is unbelievably defending his W Magazine interview, wherein he seemingly insulted the entire Divergent film franchise along with his part in it. The way the Whiplash actor explains it, everyone is really twisting his words around on him.

Headstrong Hollywood up-and-comer Miles Teller has been busy trying to explain to people that he really took the part in Divergent to be next to Shailene Woodley--not for the money as previously reported by some news outlets.

Mile apparently feels that W Magazine kind of set him up to take the fall when published his remarks seemingly about regretting having been involved in the Veronica Roth inspired movie without the proper amount of context:

"When I first read Whiplash, I was feeling dead inside.

"I didn't have an interesting part [in Divergent], and I'd taken the film for business reasons: It was the first movie I'd done that was going to have an international audience.

"I called my agent and said, 'This sucks.' He told me about Whiplash."

The fact that he has already received raved reviews following the Toronto Film Festival debut of Whiplash aside--Miles has been quick to try to contradict his previous statements about loathing the Lionsgate franchise:

During an interview with Huff Post Live, Miles went to great lengths to show how each seemingly damning word was really very benign when you looked up all its synonyms in a dictionary:

"I've been offered good money to do absolutely terrible scripts that I haven't done.

"I guess the business reasons for me were-- yeah, it was a smaller part, acting-wise, but it gave me an opportunity to be in a film that would be seen internationally and a big reason why I did it was working with Shailene [Woodley] and working with a director [Neil Burger] who I had just seen his film--Limitless--which I really enjoyed.

"So those were the business reasons, although the way [Hirschberg] framed it, people just automatically assume business [is] for money."

And as far as the experiencing rendering him "dead inside", Miles went on to explain that was just a sort of inarticulate way of saying that he was physically tired of making movies:

"[It] was about working non-stop.

"I'm not that poetic. I was just really burnt out.

"I was drained."

So you see...Miles didn't make Divergent for the money per se...Teller did it to be close to Shailene Woodley at international press junkets for the next four years.
