Goldust and Stardust, the sons of wrestling legend Dusty Rhodes, have won Tag Team gold once again. The new Tag Team Champions, whom Michael Cole has taken to calling the Cosmic Twins, are pumping fresh blood into the title scene after defeating the Usos at Night of Champions. But is the Cosmic Key now within their grasp?
Goldust and his brother Stardust have revitalized the Tag Team scene, which was getting rather stale. But now it looks like the Cosmic Twins are ready to take all comers and defend the belts at all costs (via Bleacher Report):
"Jimmy and Jey Uso had held the titles for more than 200 days after initially winning them back in March. Goldust and Stardust posed a major threat, though, and became champions together for the second time after previously winning the straps as Goldust and Cody Rhodes."
Fans and announcers spent months trying to decipher exactly what the Cosmic Key was. It was eventually accepted that the Tag Team gold was the Cosmic Key. But given Stardust's penchant for ranting incoherently, there will likely still be a wild goose chase or two.
But did you know that there is already a Cosmic Key in popular culture? It comes from the He-Man movie with Dolph Lundgren in it (via He-Man Wikia):
"Cosmic Key is a fictional device from the Masters of the Universe film. It is a device that allows anyone to travel anywhere in any dimension, Skeletor managed to obtain one device, its creator Gwildor was able to make another."
Whether or not the Rhodes Brothers have obtained the real Cosmic Key remains to be seen, but for now, fans can enjoy watching them dominate the Tag Team scene.
