After Chargers Upset Seattle, San Diego Have Momentum, Win Over Jaguars 33-14 with Passing Due to Injured Running Backs

San Diego is on a roll, posting back to back wins as they improve to a 3-1 record. After an upset win over the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks too weeks ago, they handled the Jacksonville Jaguars handily, defeating the Jags 33-14. San Diego QB Phillip Rivers stepped up his passing game due to the fact that running backs Ryan Matthews and Danny Woodhead are out with injuries. That hasn't stopped the Chargers' momentum, however.

The Chargers aren't the only team dealing with injuries, however. Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts is likely missing next week's game against Pittsburgh after straining a muscle in his left leg (via ESPN):

"'I know it's frustrating, and no one wants it more than Cecil,' coach Gus Bradley said. 'Can you imagine what he's going through? In his mind he can't catch a break.'"

Meanwhile, Chargers quarterback Phillip Rivers is rolling with the punches, putting the ball in the air for 377 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday (via ESPN):

"We weren't as balanced but we were rolling pretty good in the passing game," Rivers said. "We spread the ball around today and that was pleasing. It was a collective effort."

Things are looking good so far for the only team who has beaten Seattle so far this year.
