ABC is kicking off the premiere episode of it’s new series, How To Get Away with Murder, tonight. Check out the episode preview below to see what the new series is all about. The show star’s Viola Davis (Traffic, The Help), who despite her impressive career, hasn’t had the best of luck with TV pilots. Could this new show be a game changer?
The official plot synopsis for the premiere episode of How To Get Away with Murder, reads:
“A ruthless defense attorney and no-nonsense law professor at a Philadelphia university selects a group of her best students to work at her firm in the premiere of this drama, but they soon find themselves entangled in a real-life murder conspiracy.”
Viola Davis has known her fair share of failed TV pilots. So she is hedging her bets this time, by working with Shonda Rhimes (Grey's Anatomy, Scandal), telling TV Guide:
"I'm a failed television pilot queen, and she has a successful track rate."
In the new series, Viola Davis plays Annalise Keating, a criminal law professor with questionable ethics. Davis went on to discuss her character’s mindset, adding:
“She's really, really good at her job. My take on her is she's just swimming through a big lake of filthy swill to ultimately reach dry land like we all are."
