If you have never seen Mean Girls, shame on you. The movie, written by SNL vet and 30 Rock creator, Tina Fey, is a must watch for fans of comedy. If you are on of the few who saw the ABC Family film, Mean Girls 2 (not written by Fey) then you understand the need for a real sequel. Well it turns out Lindsay Lohan is on it. The Speed-the-Plow actress, recently admitted that she pitched a proper sequel, where all the mean girls have grown up and became cheating housewives.
Lindsay Lohan recently spoke Time Out London, where she revealed that pitched a Mean Girls sequel to Tina Fey:
“People really love the movie: how do you top that? I was with Tina Fey [‘Mean Girls’ writer] the other day and I said we should do another “Mean Girls”, like an older version where they’re all housewives and they’re all cheating. That would be really funny. I’ll harass Tina to write it.”
Lohan is not the first person to beg Fey for a new film. For years, Paramount studio tried to get Tina Fey to make a sequel to Mean Girls, before finally opting to go with director Melanie Mayron. While the direct-to-DVD/made for TV movie was still being made, Tina Fey spoke to Movieline about letting the opportunity pass:
"It's funny, because now it's shooting and I don't really have anything to do with it. Like, I haven't read it or anything like that…..Paramount was very generous and solicitous with me for several years, saying, 'Would you like to do it?' And at the time, I was like, 'They should just let it be what it is! Now, its like, why not just do it?. I should have done it, because now it's happening anyway!"
