After Apple iWatch Specs and Release Date Revealed, iPhone 6 Plus Bending and OS FAIL Embarrass Tim Cook? [UPDATE]

Just weeks after Apple announced the specs and release date of their newest product line, Apple Watch (dubbed iWatch by the press), company CEO Tim Cook is likely left embarrassed. From their most recent iPhone 6 and Plus bending scandal, to their latest OS update fail, the company has faced a number of missteps these last few weeks.

Like most bad things, it all started with U2.

At the tail end of an otherwise amazing keynote address, it was revealed that all iTunes users would receive U2's upcoming album totally for free.

While this isn't necessarily a bad thing, it automatically downloaded to a number of users' devices. The outrage, expressed via social media, stemmed from a combination of privacy invasion, memory usage and corrupted music libraries.

In fact, the outrage was so severe that Apple had to explain to users how to remove the album (via Daily News):

"Apple has released a cure for the U2 virus. Last week, Apple downloaded U2's new album onto the phones and computers of unsuspecting customers, many of whom went online to complain they didn't want it taking up memory space and messing up their music collection. On Thursday, Apple released information telling users how they can remove the album. U2's 13th studio CD, 'Songs of Innocence,' will be available for purchase to anyone who wants it on Oct. 13."

Unfortunately, that's not the only embarrassment Apple has faced since their keynote. Most alarmingly, perhaps, is that there newest phones are much more bendable than they may like.

Users have been reporting that their devices are bending by simply keeping them in their pockets. According to The Guardian, it may have something to do with what the devices are made of:

"The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus chassis is milled from a solid piece of aluminium alloy whose composition is secret. The weak area of the phone appears to be around the volume buttons, where the frame is at its thinnest and creates a fulcrum point around which the phone bends. Surprisingly, the screen does not break when the phone bends - though it does if the phone is then bent back to a flat profile."

And to make matters worse, Apple just had to pull their latest update for the new OS, iOS 8. The decision to remove the update from the app store came just hours after it was launched.

According to Wall Street Journal, users were reporting dropped calls and a disabled fingerprint scanner:

"In a rare move Wednesday, the Cupertino, Calif., electronics maker yanked an update to its latest iPhone, iPad and iPod software hours after making it available. Some owners complained the software had disrupted their phone's ability to make calls and disabled the TouchID fingerprint sensor used to unlock devices."
