Check out the preview below to see what the series is all about.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s premiere episode of Black-ish, reads:
“Advertising exec Dre looks forward to a promotion that would make him the first African American senior vice president at his firm in the premiere of this family sitcom, but he worries that there is a price to pay for his success when his son Andre Jr. announces that for his 13th birthday he's converting to Judaism in order to have a Bar Mitzvah like all his friends.”
The series’ showrunner Larry Wilmore, will soon be taking over Stephen Colberts timeslot on Comedy Central. Wilmore recently spoke with The New York Daily News about his new series, The Minority Report:
“I like my fish blackened, steak blackened and I don’t see why late night shouldn’t be blackened as well--it’s just tastier. The audience is looking for different voices and wants to hear something different, and they get tired of hearing the same thing. I think there is a huge opportunity to make a dent in that, and I am really looking forward to that.”
Be sure to check out the premiere episode of Black-ish, tonight at 9:30 p.m. on ABC.
