There is more talk than ever about The Man Called Sting and the possibility of him wrestling at least one more match in his career. Ever since the announcement of Sting's involvement with the upcoming video game WWE 2K15, hopeful fans have said their prayers to Gorgeous George up in Wrestling Heaven that Sting would return to the squared circle and throw down with a WWE Superstar at Wrestlemania XXXI. As the venerable spring classic approaches, the sense of urgency heightens, for Sting ain't no spring chicken. But for some insiders, the stars seem to be aligning, especially since WWE Network has been on a nostalgia kick lately. The website recently began releasing episodes of WCW Monday Nitro, of which Sting was often a main event participant.
Without even setting one boot in front of a WWE audience, Sting is becoming one of the most talked about wrestlers in the industry right now. And that's because Sting is a master of the tease. He knows his value, both in terms of market presence and the size of his paycheck.
Speaking of which, one of the reasons wrestling "insiders" are so sure he'll show up in the ring eventually is that Sting is cleaning up at the merch booth (via Bleacher Report):
"Sting merchandise is being sold at WWE house shows. Sting has a merchandise contract with WWE, and most expect him at WrestleMania for what could be his one and only WWE in-ring appearance this coming year."
Even if Undertaker isn't available, at this point old-school fans are so desperate to see Sting end his career with Vince that they'd be happy to see him wrestle anyone- even John Cena (via Wrestle Zone):
"I know the value of Sting at WrestleMania 31 has dropped slightly now that The Undertaker's streak has been broken, but I'd like to see him in a WWE ring just for the sake of seeing Sting in a WWE ring. Sting not wrestling with WWE is akin to Shawn Michaels not wrestling with WCW, and it's just one of those things I would like to see happen for the sheer spectacle of it all."
