Spoiler Alert: Everyone’s favorite quirky ukulele player, Zooey Deschanel, is back on Fox tonight, in an all new episode of New Girl. If you were turned off by all of last years relationship drama, than you are in luck. The show is promising a return to comedic form in Season 4.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode, titled “Dice,” reads:
“Jess gets lessons in mobile-app dating from Schmidt. Elsewhere, Winston's friends inadvertently thwart his attempts to impress his fellow cadets.”
This year the show is hoping to return to its more comedic roots, and stray away from all the relationship drama that bogged down Season 3. New Girl creator, Liz Meriwether, recently opened up to TV Guide about the this year’s return to form:
“As my 13-year-old cousin said to me this weekend, 'Are people going to yell at each other less?' And I said, 'Yes. We all are just really trying to go for the funniest thing this year. I think the comedy is really our priority."
Meriwether, went on to detail some of the problems with adding drama to a comedy show:
"I think last season we were really trying to do arcs. We were really trying to have this story continue on from episode to episode, and it's definitely tough to do on a network show, on a 21-minute show and we're also not drama writers, and so I think sometimes it was hard."
Be sure to tune into the all new episode of New Girl tonight at 9:00 p.m. on Fox.
