Shortly after announcing their new product line, Apple Watch (dubbed the iWatch by members of the press), Apple finds itself the subject of a new safety report. Turns out there may be some safety risks involved with the device, when used by a motorist. This latest report comes after their recent keynote address, where they revealed specs about the iPhone 6 and Plus, including the size differences, memory and display details.
Despite generating a ton of buzz about their newest devices, it hasn't been all good news for Apple.
First, Tim Cook was left with egg on his face, after giving all iTunes users U2's new album. While this sounds like a good idea in theory, many customers were left outraged.
The unsolicited album, social media users claim, took up valuable memory on their devices, as well as "ruined" their music library.
And now it seems that Apple got another bit of bad news. According to New Zealand Herald, Neil Greig, head of policy and research at U.K's Institute of Advanced Motorists, listed the iWatch as a potentially dangerous device:
"An iWatch has the potential to be as distracting as any other smartphone device - more so if you have to take your hand off the wheel and your eyes off the road to interact with it...The fact that the device is attached to your wrists does not matter."
Of course, these minor setbacks did little to deter the inevitable fanfare surrounding the iPhone 6 and the Plus. In case you missed the big announcement, here are the specs for the devices:
Size: The iPhone 6 will have a 4.7 inch display, while the iPhone 6 Plus will command an impressive 5.5-inch display.
Resolution: The iPhone 6 will have a resolution of 1334 x 750 resolution, giving users a 720p HD experience. The Plus has a resolution of 1920 x 1080, giving users a full 1080p HD experience.
Graphics: Both iPhones are powered by Apple's patented A8 chip, which allows for 50 % faster graphics and 25% faster processing. That's over 50 times faster processing than the original iPhone, with graphics being 84 times faster than iPhone 1.
Battery: The iPhone 6 is 50 % more energy efficient.
Fitness: Due to a new barometer that senses air pressure and measures elevation, fitness apps will be taken to the next level. iPhone 6 will be able to determine if users are walking up or down inclines.
Wi-Fi: Apple has finally introduced a new feature that allows for WiFi calling. They've also improved the technology so speeds are up to 3 times faster than the previous model.
Camera: The new iSight camera has been upgraded in an incredible manner. iPhone 6 has an 8MP iSight camera, 1.5µ pixels, ƒ/2.2 aperture.
