Transgender fighter Fallon Fox just wants a chance to compete in the UFC. But UFC Women's Champ Ronda Rousey says it wouldn't be fair because she did some research one night or something. Rousey, who is not a medical expert, is citing Fox's bone density as a reason she is reluctant to meet her in the Octagon. Is Rousey scared to fight Fox? You would think if she were a true competitor Rousey would want a challenge since no one so far has given her much of a fight.
Fallon Fox thinks Ronda Rousey is being ignorant. She wants to be allowed to compete in the UFC women's division, but the women's champion doesn't seem up for it.
So what did Fox do? She called the rowdy one out (via TMZ):
"I'm quite sure that there are quite a few female MMA fighters who have guts to fight another skilled woman without peeing their panties and saying 'No, I wouldn't fight her! I think they may be a little more mentally tough and say, 'I'll fight a trans woman, just like I'll fight a lesbian woman or a black woman Etc.'"
But Ronda swears she has science on her side. Like maybe she looked it up on Wikipedia? Anyway, Rousey says that Fox has an unfair advantage (via Toronto Sun):
"'It's a case by case scenario thing,' Rousey said of her transgendered challenger. 'I've tried to research it a lot. I feel like if you go through puberty as a man it's not something you can reverse ... There's no undo button on that.'"
At any rate, it's ultimately UFC's decision whether to allow Fox to compete, so hopefully Fox will at least get her chance to fight in the Octagon.
