It's happening again — Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross and David Fincher have all gathered to collaborate on the score for Fincher's upcoming film Gone Girl, and it's everything that's to be expected from the trio.
Coming as the third collaboration from Reznor, Ross and Fincher, as the group has worked on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and won an Oscar for The Social Network, similar success is to be expected from the trio.
Not to be confused with his other scores, this one has its own quality. While Reznor has his own tinge to his sonic value as a composer, the latest from the film was posted to the Nine Inch Nails website not too long ago.
While the soundtrack sports the darkest of hues, Reznor was quoted on Indiewire, saying that the film was "really fun to work on" and that it's been "an interesting challenge with some different parameters, and it keeps [Reznor, Ross and Fincher] on [their] toes."
So if you're willing to venture in the doldrums of scoring, take a listen to "The Way He Looks at Me" below.
