After Cheating Rumors, Detroit Lions' Golden Tate Supports Gilda's Club on His Way to Big Fantasy Football Numbers Thanks to Calvin Johnson

Detroit's newest target at wide-out, Golden Tate, is a charismatic and explosive player. Since signing with the Lions in free agency, the Motor City fans have been gearing up for a high-powered new look offense with Reggie Bush, Calvin "Megatron" Johnson and QB Matt Stafford returning. Fantasy Football owners are looking for Tate to put up some big numbers opposite Megatron, while off the field Tate is putting the old rumor mill to rest about his supposed dalliance with Russell Wilson's soon-to-be ex-wife. Instead of being accused of cheating, Tate is now spending his time in support of a cancer survivor's group called Gilda's Club.

Many NFL players spend their free time helping out with charities and other good causes. That is, the ones who aren't busy being the scum of the earth and beating on their wives and kids.

Golden Tate recently blogged about spending time at cancer survivors' group Gilda's Club (via Detroit Lions):

"Being in the situation we all are in as professional athletes, a lot of people look up to us and a lot of people's days and lives are changed just from spending a precious few minutes of their time with us. I think about it as a blessing. I love my job and most importantly I get to give back."

He's not looking too shabby on the field, either. Fantasy Football team owners should look for him to pay off this season (via SB Nation):

"Tate is currently on pace to finish the year with 88 catches for 1,200 yards. There is no reason to believe that he can't find the end zone as he finished his four-year career in Seattle Seahawks' run-heavy scheme with 15 touchdowns, 12 of which came in his last two seasons."
